As we approach the coming heatwave across Southern California, Southern California Weather Force models are coming into agreement on the potential temperatures for given city areas so read on for details …
Look out, the trough of low pressure will be squashed down, allowing for a ridge of high pressure to develop over the region starting tomorrow and gaining steam as we approach Father’s Day weekend. This is curiously similar to last year’s heatwave event where during Father’s Day weekend we had the same type of pattern. And as I said in the previous article (Click Here To Read It), this year looks very similar to the 2009 Summer, and that summer was similar to the 2016 Summer in many ways. So the pattern is good for now.
So far will go with Wednesday as the start of the build in of high pressure, with the height of the temperatures likely being next week between Monday and Thursday.
So I’ll go ahead and put select cities down and those numbers will be the days, first number this Wednesday and last number next Thursday in the row ..

The coastal zones will remain comfortable and become a magnet for those inland rushing for temperature relief … but remember. with the shark sightings out there it is urged you be cautious as sharks do live in the ocean and every-time you step foot in there you step into their home. Have fun and stay safe …
Cooler weather looks to be on tap after … say .. the 24th of this month as the ridge of high pressure breaks down.
Here are those heat tips again;
- Drink plenty of water; even if you do not feel thirsty. Avoid drinks with caffeine. Persons who have epilepsy or heart, kidney, or liver disease; are on fluid-restricted diets; or have a problem with fluid retention should consult a doctor before increasing liquid intake.
- Never leave children or pets alone in closed vehicles.
- Check on family, friends, and neighbors who do not have air conditioning and who spend much of their time alone.
- Check on your animals frequently to ensure that they are not suffering from the heat.
- Go to a designated public shelter if your home loses power during periods of extreme heat. Stay on the lowest floor out of the sunshine if air conditioning is not available.
- DO NOT WALK YOUR DOGS ON HOT SURFACES …
