[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Issued Zones: Los Angeles Basin, Coast, SCV/SFV … Acton areas … Los Angeles Mountains Wrightwood … Eastern half of Ventura County …
Site: Southern California Weather Force has issued a Mesoscale Discussion effective now until an alert is issued … for shower or thunderstorm activity … All fire personnel be on alert …
Date: 7/9/17 at 3:40pm PT
Forecast: In tracking the easterly wave, it is parking just offshore San Clemente Island overnight tonight and into your Monday morning. This type of event will likely happen near the midnight hour and peak through the sunrise hours on Monday morning.
What I’m seeing is elevated instability above 21,000 FT. This, with upper divergence on the north end of the easterly wave may make it possible for lift to occur over a small area of the forecast zone tonight, meaning the LA Coast/Basin and centering the Acton and Santa Clarita Valley areas … fading, but pushing into the Eastern half of Ventura County.
Such a pattern would bring the risk of dry lightning … and of course some showers … Fire personnel are urged to remain ready tonight …
A FINAL decision will be made shortly … but confidence is growing …
10 mile rule: These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for. You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
