[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Issued Zones: Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Kern County …
Site: Southern California Weather Force has issued a Special Weather Statement effective now through Sunday … NOTE – Read carefully as it is very detailed to certain areas …
Date: 9/2/17 at 7:15am PT
Forecast: Shower and thunderstorm activity will be on the increase across the Special Weather Statement zone starting today. With an easterly flow, storms forming in the San Fernando Valley will move across the Ventura Basin.
With that same flow, storms forming over the VT/SBA Mountains will also be likely, pushing east to the western slopes.
Furthermore, Kern will pop off storms and push westward toward the Bakersfield Valley areas. So we do have a lot of areas that will go off today.
As Tropical Storm Lidia moves southwest of us on Sunday, the arm-band will enhance thunderstorm activity along the coastal zones of this statement area, including an increase for SLO/KERN County, all the way west to Morro Bay … the northern extent of the activity I expect …Tornadoes are also very possible on Sunday in these areas.
The east flow may promote stronger wind gusts in Bakersfield’s valley on Sunday.
10 mile rule: These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for. You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
