[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Issued Zones:  The High Desert Metro … San Bernardino and Riverside Mountains above 4,000 FT …

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Wind Chill Warning effective overnight tonight into Thursday morning …

Date Issued:  12/6/17 at 1:20pm PT

Forecast: During normal Santa Ana Wind Events you get surface winds on the other side of the mountains, making both the warning zones listed in this having calmer conditions.  However, since this has a low level component to it, it is entirely possible that wind gusts of 20-30 mph in the High Desert areas … and 40 to 50 mph in the Mountain areas … will happen.

This means that combined with temperatures in the 20s in the High Desert and Teens in the Mountains … Wind Chill Factors will be in the Teens for the High Desert and Single Digits to even below zero in the Riverside and San Bernardino Mountains, including Big Bear.

Take your precautions in these conditions.

10 mile rule:  These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for.  You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
