Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Squall-line Watch effective now for Tuesday morning …

Date:  1/8/18 at 9:30pm PT

Forecast: As noted in the Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Watch further to your west or northwest in LA/OC, the areas east of I-215 in the Inland Empire and stretching southward to the San Diego Coast/Valley areas are not under as strong of thunderstorm dynamics as the other zones northwest of you.

So, latest evening runs shows the southern extent of the stronger thunderstorm dynamics moving over the Central/Northern Orange County coast and then heading northeast from there toward the High Desert.

The end result if true would be the squall-line producing little lightning in the watch area and more on the line of heavy rainfall and gusty, sometimes damaging winds along it.  Monitoring will continue if the area needs an upgrade but for now this alert will do … The line is expected in early Tuesday morning at or after sunrise.

10 mile rule:  These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for.  You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
