Forecast: An inside slider will come into the region on Wednesday and Thursday. Given the surface low strength over Las Vegas, Ventura will see the 30+ mph winds on Wednesday with the LA/OC/IE areas in the 20 mph range. The LA/OC/IE areas will be introduced into this advisory event on Thursday, when the strongest onshore flow will be expected.
A good 30-45 mph wind gust criteria will be set. The model below is the SCWF Wind Intensity Model. You can notice some areas in OC and the IE have no color value. That is because you are below the advisory limits, BUT it will still be considered ‘windy’ to you there on Thursday.
