Issued Zones: Eastern San Bernardino Mountains … Eastern Riverside Mountains … Western Morongo Basin …
Site: Southern California Weather Force has issued a Winter Weather Watch effective now for Monday night into all of Tuesday …
Date: 1/15/21 at 11:35am PT
Forecast: An inside slider will move into the region overnight on Monday and last through Tuesday. The center of the center being due south of the watch area will bring in dry and cold air from the east, or a wrap-around moisture effect.
Commonly this pattern does affect the Big Bear regions with more snowfall than forecast. The snow level would drop below 4,000 Feet, thus the Yucca Valley grade areas are also going to be monitored.
This is still a good couple of days out from being fully confident in the details, however confidence in snowfall is 100% in the time stated above. A winter weather watch means conditions are favorable in the medium range for snow to fall. This also could be a winter storm warning for Big Bear if the low positions just right.
