We are still on track to the commanding initial forecast of an easterly wave moving across Southern California later today, tonight, and through Monday. SCWF Flood Watches are activated in spots, maps have been completed, so read on for details in your area …
First of all, we will have pop-up activity in the San Diego Mountains this afternoon/evening. The flow is out of the northeast today so anything developing would move off them towards the foothills and communities along I-15 on a weakening stage. As tonight rolls around, we will see activity moving out of Northwest Arizona where my severe thunderstorm watch is over at Arizona Weather Force, a separate entity to Southern California Weather Force. This will be due to an area of upper lift, the easterly wave. This will have a well-put-together round of thunderstorms from around Needles/I-40 through the HIgh Desert and into the Northern Inland Empire and Los Angeles areas. It however will be on a weakening stage as it exits the deserts… but I do expect thunderstorms with it in the red-shaded area. Additional showers are likely for the green-shaded areas through the night.
Monday, July 26, 2021 – This is when the easterly wave pushes off the coast. This will bring a south-to southeast flow around it. As per the map, the red-shaded areas for the San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino Mountains, west to the High Desert, and Kern areas will be under the gun. Thus the Flood Watch was officially issued over the e-mail alert system to full members in those zones at 12:20 this afternoon. Other areas within the metros are expected to see showers and isolated thunderstorms sure, but the main impacts are within the flood watch (click here) area for a notable impact. There is a chance that the Eastern Inland Empire areas like Beaumont, Yucaipa, Cherry Valley, Hemet, and around there would have better storm chances for Monday given the flow is south-southeast off the mountains. So if you’re there, something to note.
NOTE: These articles and alerts go over a very powerful e-mail alert system which you control in what zones you want. There are over 160 zones within 10 counties. DO NOT rely on social media to get notified when my alerts go out. If you want them delivered, quarterly it is very affordable if you can spare a couple of starbucks coffee days no one really needs. This all clears by Tuesday under a dry slot. Our next chance for a returning in Monsoon Moisture for east of Los Angeles will be end of the month.

Southern California Weather Force is a custom weather alert service that began in September 1999 off and is regarded as the most accurate weather service in the region, offering custom alerts, maps, and models to help save life and property. The work done here is never 100% accurate, but it comes pretty close. Southern California Weather Force runs on zones, so if an event happens in a zone that is 10 miles from the border of your zone, the forecast is still valid to activate your zone’s alert system. A company quote to the public is that of “The Joker” and tells other agencies in weather this all the time… “This world deserves a better class of meteorologist… and I’m gonna give it to them”… out-forecasting even the National Weather Service with lead-time and precision, which makes this service a focus of ridicule and envy in the weather community due to having such accuracy. Alerts issued here are issued custom from this office and this office alone. You may not even hear it elsewhere, but if one is issued near or in your area, listen up because “if you do not wish to die in weather, follow, it’ll save your life one day.”
