Inverted Trough Out Of Mexico Sunday into Monday of This Next Week Will Bring Upswing in Showers and Thunderstorms

Southern California Weather Force has issued a Special Weather Statement for Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, The Inland Empire, High and Low Desert, San Diego/Riverside/San Bernardino, and Los Angeles Mountains for Sunday into Monday, July 31st, 2023 with an inverted trough coming all the way from the Gulf of Mexico.

An inverted trough means that a lot of lift will be associated with the coming event.  Showers and Thunderstorms will be likely from Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Inland Empire, High and Low Desert and surrounding mountains during this period, along with horrendous humidity conditions.

How far west this will go will depend on the trough that is immediately after this, which could keep storms away from Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Kern County with this event.

The main focus will be the locations above.  As the event nears, additional information will be given.  This could be the event that ignites the Elsinore Convergence Zone as well, which is considered the Inland Empire’s Storm Fault Line.
