Southern California Weather Force has issued a Long-Range Weather Watch out ahead of a strong Santa Ana Wind Pattern beginning December 9th through the 16th, of 2024, with two events looking possible.
A ridge of high pressure to the west of California will continue to bring storms north and east of the state. This will mean that colder air will work with a cutoff pattern for increasing risks of offshore flow. Due to the thermal support, upper support of the upper-level jet stream … It is very likely this will be considered a strong event.
So, if you have Christmas decorations, take them in until December 17th, considering you take them in before December 9th.
This event will also bring strong winds to non-Santa Ana Wind Zones, which would be the high and low desert zones, including Las Vegas during the predicted time-frame.
SUPER LONG RANGE: Southern California Weather Force will be changing outlines for predicting seasonal rain. The best I will do is every three months. For what that is worth, December to February could end up with 2-3″ of rainfall. We can only hope March to May can make up for it.
