Enhanced Santa Ana Wind Watch Issued for Later Monday into Tuesday; Storm Possible Afterwards

Southern California Weather Force has issued an update to the coming Santa Ana Wind Pattern later Monday and into Tuesday of this next week, December 9th into the 10th.

A storm system dropping into the Intermountain-West will bring thermal support, with extremely cold temperatures in the Great Basin.  This will work with upper support to bring a strong Santa Ana Wind Pattern into the area.  As stated, days ago on the Long-Range Weather Advisory, continued monitoring of this event would happen.

So, if you have Christmas decorations, take them in until December 15th, considering you take them in before December 9th.

This event will also bring strong winds to non-Santa Ana Wind Zones, which would be the high and low desert zones, including Las Vegas during the predicted timeframe.

LONG RANGE:  Sometime during the weekend and week of December 14th, a split flow pattern may bring a storm system into the area.  Since it is a bit away, monitoring of this will be the case without a promise.  However, the pattern does have the good chance of a storm pattern then.

An Enhanced Santa Ana Wind Watch is issued before the final warning and considered time to prepare if you are in the Santa Ana Wind prone zones.
