Enhanced Santa Ana Wind Warning Issued from the Official Office of Southern California Weather; Wind Maps Available

Southern California Weather Force has upgraded the Enhanced Santa Ana Wind Watch to the final and official Enhanced Santa Ana Wind Warning, effective later Monday and going into Tuesday, on a sharp, but potent wind event to strike Southern California, along with zoom-in maps so read on for details.

A week ago, a Long-Range Weather Watch was issued here at Southern California Weather Force (Reference A Below), and that continued to be upgraded through advisory and warning, with the official watches issued as the time comes.  This is a Raiden Storm Pattern, which means it was predicted and should have been predicted ahead of time by your ‘government weather’ service to save your life and property, in-which they failed miserably on it for giving time.

A very strong cold front will move through the Intermountain West on Monday and continue further south, which will make the Great Basin extremely cold.  Usually, Santa Ana Wind Patterns are north-northeast to southwest and it will be done.  However these are drainage winds, which means it will come from the source of which the temperature difference is greatest.

As such, San Diego County will no doubt see the worst of the winds.  While not Downtown San Diego, areas like Escondido, Ramona, and even the coast to Encinitas will need, or should have prepared for this event.

This flow has not happened since 2007, given the extremely strong easterly flow on Tuesday.  It will be a short-lived event, and the warning level winds will be done by Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.  Power shutoffs are scheduled of course, and this is because powerlines will fall and start fires if the power is there.  Preventing that is how and why they have shutoff warnings.

The Cajon Pass will be fine up top, until you hit the bottom.  Expect semi roll-overs at the 210-15 interchange due to the SCWF model being at Level 7 there.

Baja, Mexico:  Southern California Weather Force serves your area, and you will see one of the strongest Santa Ana Wind Events in many years in that area as seen on the zoom-in maps.
