Southern California Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch and Weather Advisory, effective Thursday, March 13th, 2025.
The main squall-line within the now expired Severe Thunderstorm Watch has moved on. Reports are a tornado may have touched down in Los Angeles County, Pico Rivera – but those have not been verified. Looking back at the radar, it does look like it got hit by the break in the squall-line, which does indicate low level shear. It could be a tornado, or just straight-line winds and a microburst. Regardless, the SCWF Severe Thunderstorm Watch has verified.
TODAY: Cold air aloft will work with daytime heating to bring thunderstorms into Inland Southern California. Cold air funnels, hail, mountain snow, brief heavy rain, and gusty winds will all be possible with it.
FRIDAY: Another system is right behind this one. Forecasts will be issued later today on it, but we do have more precipitation coming then.
